Transport to Central London
The easiest way to make your way to the centre of London from the terminals
at Heathrow airport are by either the Piccadilly line on London’s underground system or by overground rail.
If journeying by road you are likely to encounter heavy vehicle traffic on either the motorway or on the city centre approach roads into central London. These roads are particularly busy during rush hour times. If you are travelling late at night the traffic conditions should be light.

Trains to London
The Heathrow Express , which has direct access to central London, is the fastest mode of transport. This overland rail service leaves from 1,3 and 5 terminals taking you into Paddington railway station. The journey time is 15 minutes.

London underground trains leave from terminals 1, 3, 4 and 5 and take about an hour to reach central London. You cannot take a train directly to other cities or regions from Heathrow airport.

Terminals at Heathrow Airport
