The ban on the iconic landmark will come into force in two years time by the October of 2019. The reason given for the decision was to preserve the sacred Northern Territory site due to Aboriginal law who look after the iconic landmark since the handover in 1985.
Ayers Rock is a magnet for tourists heading to the area and although locals have asked visitors not to climb the rock sadly there are a few tour guides who offer services to climb the rock.
According to the park’s records a staggering 250,000 visitors have made their way to view Ayers Rock in Australia normally each year.
