River Lagan Turns Green
The River Lagan has turned green according to one local who uses the river side to cycle to work each day. One section of the river which is believed to be around 1 mile long beside Lisburn has turned green and the cyclist has uploaded photos for experts to investigate.

The NIEA has now dispatched investigators to the stretch of water to take samples of this part of the river with a solution to the problem.
The cyclist – Caroline Bloomfield had suggested the problem maybe algae bloom but experts are suggesting from the photo that the problem maybe more to do with water weed.
Once samples have been taken and analysed this will provide a way forward to solving the problem of the River Lagan.
