Passenger Increase at London’s Luton Airport

Luton Airport London has just enjoyed a record amount increase
in passengers during the month of September 2015.

Passengers totalling 1.2 million chose to travel through the airport
which makes an increase of 19.2 percent on September 2014 and
consecutive growth for the last 18 months.

London Luton Airport [LLA] has chosen to invest £100 million
to keep pace with the increasing passenger demand.

Two major development phases took place in September as the
construction contractor Whitemountain was announced along
with the opening of a new and larger security area.

The civil engineering and construction of transport facilities
and landside infrastructure will be managed by the Lagan
group which is part of Whitemountain.

This work includes the road approaching the terminal building being
turned into a dual carriageway, the set down area being
remodelled and the coach terminal being repositioned.

Investment also includes a significant expansion of the security area which includes relocating it to the ground floor along with the inclusion of the latest passenger screening technology.
