ADT Plans Delayed
The Scottish Government plans to find an alternative way to pay for air tax need to be delayed. One main reason is the backing saught from Europe which is required for approval will take longer than expected.
Scottish Parliament required approval due to rules about state aid which would have been required for exempt journeys in the North of Scotland (Highland & Islands).
MSPS voted already to reduce the passenger tax to 50% before the air passenger duty tax is scrapped in the near future.
Both the UK and Scottish Governments will work closely to find a solution.
