A9 Electric Highway

Scottish Government are planning to make the A9 and other routes up and down the country as electric friendly for cars and vehicles as possible.

Drivers are still able to return or collect their car hire UK from Aberdeen Downtown

Current plans are trying to encourage drivers to ditch their petrol vehicles and diesel cars for electric vehicles. The big drive forward is to make everyone’s life a bit easier by introducing more charging or power points along as many roads as possible.

Difficulty for the A9 is the 90 miles stretch of road and how to maintain enough and install power points along this busy route.

The Government have not said how many electrical chargers will be ordered or who is to pay for them. Giving that each car has roughly 100 miles before charging this may mean a long wait at your destination if the village only has one public point to use.
